In celebration of Father’s Day, the AIP Marketing Alliance team wants to thank all of the Dads out there for everything they do for our families.

The “Dad” role tends to have many different parts almost like a Swiss army knife.

• At most Daddy/Daughter dances, Dad is the gleam is his daughter’s eye as he prepares her for future dances at school events like Homecoming, Prom, and even sharing the dance floor during his daughter’s future wedding.
• Sometimes, Dad plays the role of fan or coach at baseball or other sporting events by playing catch in the yard, taking a son or daughter to the batting cages, sitting in the stands supporting at each game, or even spending countless hours on the diamond or field preparing their child with many others for each game. This role extends to really any activity from band, choir, scouts, Science Olympiad, robotics, school plays, and so many other events children choose to be involved with through school.
• When something breaks around the house, Dad also becomes Mr. “Fix-It” to resolve a broken toy, a clogged sink or toilet, a lagging computer, painting rooms, replacing bulbs or fixtures, or other maintenance tasks that pop up unexpectedly.
• Dads also provide taxi service to a friend’s house or event, mentoring on using a lawn mower or snow blower, a quick response when they hear a cry for help, an effective spatula on the barbecue grill, a euchre partner (at least here in Michigan), and an open ear to listen and help with any problems in life.

Fathers and Grandfathers continue to have an impact on our lives in different ways as each of us has a special story (or stories). For those who have lost their Dads and Grandads, Father’s Day also serves as a reminder of sharing the photos and the memories with their children and grandchildren to keep those treasured times close to the heart.
