After a successful 2021 fundraising campaign, Team AIP will serve as 2022 Real Men Wear Pink Ambassadors to help raise awareness and donations to support the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer. This year’s team consists of AIP Marketing Alliance Vice President Darron Markwood and AIP Financial Services President Brian Kurtz.

Last year, Oakland County’s Real Men Wear Pink raised $319,403 through 24 local ambassadors to rank in the Top 5 nationally. The Real Men Wear Pink campaign raised nearly $12 million through 140 campaigns nationwide through 2,500 RMWP ambassadors.

Every dollar raised helps the American Cancer Society save lives from breast cancer by funding innovative breast cancer research; providing education and guidance to help reduce risks; and offering comprehensive patient support to patients and their families.

“We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, and to be able to meet these resilient, strong women in-person truly warms my heart and motivates me to do even more on an annual basis,” Markwood said. “The Real Men Wear Pink of Oakland County has become an inspiration and a brethren of men who truly give all they can to show the support to the survivors, the fighters, and those battling breast cancer on a daily basis.”

• Sunday, September 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Fieldstone Golf Course in Auburn Hills. The 4th Annual Real Men Wear Pink Golf Outing includes golf, lunch, dinner, silent auctions, golf contests, raffles, and donation to the American Cancer Society. $125 per person. • Thursday, October 13th at 5:00 p.m. at Arctic Circle Brewing Company in New Baltimore. This fun event will feature a themed glass that gives 10% to the American Cancer Society on every fill-up in September and October plus, we will have silent auctions and raffles!
• Saturday, October 15th at 4:00 p.m. at Steampunk Tap Room in Utica. Our 4th Annual Pink Out the ‘Punk event will have specialty craft beer taps, silent auctions, and raffle drawings. Feel free to wear your pink that day!!! More updates to come after Labor Day.
• Saturday, October 22nd at 10 a.m. at Rochester Municipal Park. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (Oakland and Macomb Counties) brings together survivors, Real Men Wear Pink, supporters, and other participants. Registration at 9 a.m. with walk starting at 10 a.m. Event Information Here.

This year, the RMWP of Oakland County have a goal of $150,000, but the team hopes through numerous fundraisers to surpass that goal and end up higher than last year’s $319,403. You can track the Real Men Wear Pink of Oakland County on the American Cancer Society’s website.
