An Integrity Collaboration – Rick Kisser Debuts on Mark Williams Podcast

As strategic partners of Integrity™, AIP Marketing Alliance and Brokers International have collaborated on multiple projects and initiatives to benefit both of our teams as well as helping AIPMA’s wholesalers and agents by adding new resources.

As we continue to share ideas and resources, AIPMA decided to add one more collaboration to the mix.

Brokers International CEO & Managing Partner Mark Williams and AIPMA President Rick Kisser recently sat down to close out Season 2 of Williams’ Balance, Not Burnout podcast. This 23rd episode of the podcast focused on The Importance of Separation: Maintaining Work-Life Balance in a Family Enterprise.”

During the 26-minute session, they discussed how Rick transitioned from a mechanical engineer to leading AIP Marketing Alliance’s operations in Troy, Michigan. Rick also shared how he balances work and personal life with his family, Dave Kisser and Kym Kisser, and maintains those boundaries outside the office.

“My dad never set boundaries when it came to work and personal, right – we talked about work non-stop, all the time,” Mark said in the podcast. “I’m curious about you, do you set that boundary at home with your family?”

Rick admitted how difficult separating work from personal time can be within AIPMA’s family business during holidays or hanging out. His father, Dave Kisser, sometimes wants to talk business, since he has taken a step back away from the company started by him and his wife, Cheryl.

“When we do get together, I try to make it about other things,” Rick said. “I try to deflect as best I can… I try to shift the conversation back into something that’s more personal, more about the family.”
