November is Long-Term Care Awareness Month

According to Life Happens, long-term care (LTC) includes all the assistance you would need with daily living tasks if a chronic illness or disability leaves your clients unable to care for themselves for an extended period of time. It could be care in their own home or in a specialized facility.

Many people do not know that health insurance and/or Medicare may not pay for extended long-term care services.The national median cost for a home health aide for an eight-hour day is approximately $49,000 annually. An assisted living facility in the U.S. has a median cost of roughly $45,000.

That's why AIP Marketing Alliance is providing our agencies and agents with agent-facing and consumer-facing materials to promote the value of Long-Term Care insurance (LTCi). Based on LIMRA statistics, 65% say most people need long-term care insurance, but only 57% say they personally need it, and only 15% say they own it.
