The last week has dealt a blow to the U.S. economy as the cancellation of events and closing of many businesses has all of us searching for answers to battle the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Even St. Patrick Day’s lucky four-leaf clover today couldn’t withstand the potential impact of this pandemic. But that doesn’t mean you are closed for business.

• Leverage Your Technology: Use an iPhone’s FaceTime or online meeting software (ZOOM offers free online meetings) to meet “face-to-face” with your clients. Call them on the phone or send them an email to “check in.”
• Leverage Carrier Technology: Are you using iGO, e-applications or drop ticket? These services allow you to process an application online with a client without physically being there. You start the process over the phone and then turn the application over to the carrier for follow-up.
• Life Insurance Products: Did you know some carriers do not require blood/urine for their life insurance policy? AIPMA is contracted with multiple carriers with these products and can connect you to make the application process easier for your clients.
• Life Policy Reviews: A pandemic like COVID-19 causes paranoia and panic for most people. They may want to review their current life insurance and long-term care policies. Taking a few minutes over the phone or sending one of AIPMA’s life policy review sheets to your client can assess their coverages without physically being there.
